The DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) has announced major updates to the way driving tests are booked and managed in the UK. These changes, coming into effect throughout 2026, are designed to reduce misuse of the booking system, improve availability, and make the process fairer for genuine learners.

One of the biggest changes introduced by DVSA is a strict limit on how many times you can change your driving test booking.
Currently, learners are allowed to change their test up to 6 times. However, from 31 March 2026, this will be reduced to just 2 changes only.
This means you must be fully prepared before booking your test. Constant rescheduling — which many learners previously relied on — will no longer be possible.
